I recently had the opportunity to check out Ageless Remedies-Southpark. I highly recommend this fabulous med-spa. Continue reading to learn more about Ageless Remedies-Southpark from my interview with Elaine Greenberg, one of the masterminds behind this gem. 

 

What sparked your interest in opening Ageless Remedies-Southpark?I have always been aware that “You feel better when you know you look good.” When my husband retired, it opened the door for us to start a business to help people do that – look their best. Self-esteem often depends on self-image. We love helping people look their best and making them happy.

You pride yourself in carrying only the best in skincare solutions. What skincare line do you highly recommend for routine care? Everyone needs a skincare regimen that includes these essentials: an anti-oxidant (e.g., Vitamin C), a retinol (for skin renewal), and a full-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of 30.

We established Ageless Remedies SouthPark with an apothecary concept so we don’t endorse only one line.  Instead, we base our recommendations on the ingredients necessary to achieve healthy skin, individualized for every client.  Besides the above fundamentals, some of our cosmeceuticals contain growth factors, built-in moisturizers, and lightening agents for brown/age/sun spots. All the products we carry achieve real results, especially the medical grade products. They are state-of-the art and are proven to penetrate below the skin’s surface.

Some women can be intimidated by technology  such as botox and even laser hair removal. What do you have to  say to those who are curious but still uncertain about going through with one of those procedures? I certainly understand being overwhelmed by these procedures. It’s a new world – and there’s a great deal of misinformation all too available. In the end, it comes down to trust. Finding people with whom you feel comfortable, to whom you can trust your skin, is the key. I encourage everyone to choose carefully and not commit to anything until he or she spends some time talking with the potential aesthetician or physician.

In fact, no one is treated at Ageless Remedies SouthPark without first completing a medical H+P (History and Physical) and having a complimentary consultation to discuss her concerns and to learn how we can help.

You have returning customers even from other states which means they must be pretty loyal. What sets you apart from the other med spas?  Thank you for asking! I know it’s easy to say “customer service” but we actually walk the talk. Everything we suggest is customized for each individual. We are a genuine medical spa with a physician who is always available. Moreover, our staff is updated weekly on the latest developments in the field – products, equipment, techniques. We all take great pride in being at the forefront in aesthetics.

What is your personal favorite service that you offer? Anything that you see as a MUST-HAVE? As we age, our skin loses the ability to renew itself as it did when we were 20 years old. Some form of regular, professional exfoliation keeps skin healthy, vibrant, and young.  I was addicted to chemical peels but now the new HydraFacial has won me over! And, at 65, I absolutely depend on Botox, fillers, and fractional laser skin rejuvenation. I don’t think I could give up any of it!

How do you define beauty? What a great question! For me, someone is beautiful when I sense, I truly see, an inner glow of goodness. Some people radiate a kind, generous spirit.

Any final words? Most people want to look their best but don’t know about what is now possible -- fabulous technological advances that are non-surgical and involve little or no down-time. Fabulous Friday Feature:Charlotte Radiology's Mobile Breast Center

Yesterday, I had the chance to tour Charlotte Radiology's new mobile breast center that I recently blogged about.This 38.6 foot long breast center ON WHEELS is quite impressive. The vehicle is staffed by two certified mammography technologists and features a registration/waiting area, private dressing rooms and an examination room for completing the digital mammogram.

"Our mobile breast center will allow Charlotte Radiology to reach women in the workplace and underserved areas," explained Cathleen Bates, Charlotte Radiology Breast Center Manager. "Our goal is to improve access and educate women about the importance of early detection, ultimately increasing the number of women getting their annual mammogram. 

According to the National Cancer Institute, Mecklenberg County has a reported breast cancer rate of more than 120 cases per 100,000 people. This is higher than the national average!

I was extremely impressed by the set up of this unit. I met many individuals involved with this program and I truly felt they are compassionate and want to provide the same quality, comfort and expertise as you'd experience in one of their breast centers. Saving lives is truly their top priority.

Fabulous Friday Feature: Greyson Steele Photography

In 1991, Dawn Gaddy began photographing weddings in Wisconsin. This was during the "film age" which was quite different than today. The technology available to photographers today make it easier to capture every single special moment of that special day. 

In 2002, Dawn moved to North Carolina and by 2003, Dawn had built her business by specializing in maternity, new born, and family portraits.  Not only was she working on her own business but she was also assisting a well known NC photographer on a variety of shoots including weddings, commercial, real estate and portrait photography. Dawn was also in charge of all editing and retouching in the studio. 

Dawn met the love of her life in 2006. Not only did she meet the man of her dreams but she met someone with the same passion she held. Photography. Darrell's passion was sports, and real life photography. A care free photojournalistic passion. Now that she had someone in her life with a passion for photography as herself, there was only one thing left to do,

GET MARRIED.

In 2008, Darrell and Dawn became husband and wife. And shortly after that they had a beautiful little boy that was born at 24 weeks....a miracle baby at 1lb 9oz . It was during this time in their life that I met this fabulous couple. The love they had for one another and the strength they had for this new life was absolutely beautiful. As Darrell and Dawn said, there had to be a strong passionate name they could give their little fighter, Greyson Steele Gaddy.

Bling My Bra

Happy Saturday My Pretties! I recently came across a fabulous campaign that is in it's second year helping raise funds for Susan G. Komen for the Cure. With an adorable name like Bling My Bra, who wouldn't be interested in learning what was behind this name? 

Bling My Bra is an online auction that through the creativity and passion of a small group of people, raised $3,000 in it's first year for Susan G. Komen. Thru this campaign and thru Ebay, they are doing their part to fight Breast Cancer. 

The founder of Bling My Bra, Beth Cherkowsky,  took some time to share her inspiration.

When was Bling My Bra founded? Bling My Bra was founded in 2009. We started collecting art bras in July and auctioned them in October...every day in October.

 

Where did the inspiration come from? - First I read about art bras in the local newspaper. Then John Lawson, a.k.a. ColderIce (ecommerce expert and owner of 3rdpoweroutlet, an eBay store) had a breast cancer fund-raising auction on eBay in which he auctioned advertising space on his T-shirt during an ecommerce convention, then donated the funds to breast cancer research. He raised $3000+! So Kat and I looked at each other (virtually!  all the way from Pennsylvania to the Rocky Mountains and back and said "WE CAN DO THAT".   I rounded up some friends, asked eBay sellers on the eBay Radio Chat board for help,  suggested art bras and the rest is history. By the way, we  had 41 bras from 17 artists  and creators, a pair of Pink Ribbon Switch flops donated by Katskloset, and lots of publicity from Galleria Gifts on eBay.  Altogether we raised $3000 with auctions and donations through three separate eBay sellers auctioning things plus a lot of eBayers bidding and donating.

 

We are a beauty site so of course I must ask, What is your beauty product must have? My must-have beauty product is (I have to pick one?? ) mine are eye shadow and lipstick.  I wear glasses so I "need" eye shadow...the more colors, the happier I am. And I feel the same way about lip color...the more colors to choose from, the happier I am.

 

Who is your beauty icon? My beauty icon is Sophia Lauren:  75 years old and still one hot mama and so very very classy.

 

What is your definition of beauty? My definition of beauty is when inner peace and self-confidence shine thru.
